a spoonful of random...

it's the perfect day.. (now that song is in my head)

So.. in all honesty, the time is 1:10am on the 12th of January, but I'm writing about events of the 11th, plus I am trying to update on a daily basis, so just deal with the little tweakage of the dateage.

Classes were actually bearable, which is way awesome. I was very much dreading the classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but I find myself completely enjoying all my profs and my classmates (I know at least half of the students in each of my classes) and the prospect of making this semester rock. Like, the attitude I have in going into this semester is truly a blessing. I learned the hard way that you will actually reap what you sow here at LeTourneau, which is excellent. It is a good lesson to learn, and though it came at a high price, I appreciate it nonetheless.

For dinner, I ate with several of my good Clubber buddies (Boy, Pimp, Camshaft, Jason, Michael, and Jody) at the Hive. I then meandered up to MSC-3 to play piano with Jason for a while. We walked out just as everyone on campus was heading to all-campus communion (once a semester type deal). That reminded me that the Flooders were escorting the G3 girls to communion again, and I was supposed to be there, dressed up. Oops. So.. I followed Jason back to his building, we called up Boy, and off to Wal*mart we went, toting along Pimp and Camshaft, as well. Great fun!

Anyway, I actually did all my homework (though it isn't due until Thursday!) and helped Jenna finish some of hers, so I feel productive and accomplished and quite satisfied. Speaking of which, Jenna's homework for Biblical Literature practically consists of reading the Bible in its entirity in a semester. In order to help out, I offered to read aloud with her, since it is easier to pay attention to the material being read that way. We actually finished through the 12th chapter of Genesis in a rather short amount of time, but we decided to stop A) because it was a breaking point on her assignment sheet and B) because it was 1am.

Well, correction, it is 1am. Since part of my goal this semester is to get a healthy amount of sleep (during the night, hopefully, this time), we decided to call it a night. Oh, the reason I brought up the read-through-the-Bible thing is that Jenna and I are now going to make it a goal to read a chunk every night, even parts that might not be assigned. Neither of us have ever made it through from start to finish entirely. I've probably been exposed to every verse at some point in time, but it's nice to get some of the stories in some sort of order. Plus, it's nice to have a friend around when you get to books like Leviticus which can be.. well.. tedious, I guess.

Anywho, that just made me happy. That's all. Today was a great day, and I just couldn't be happier about it. Went to class, saw friends, did homework, goin to bed on time. It's like a dream come true. Oh right, and I walked somewhere in there, so I'm exercising. And I ate a healthy lunch and a healthy dinner, limited myself to half a candy bar for dessert (split it with Jenna) and had popcorn (healthyish) for a late night study snack.

Dang, this day was pretty darn near to being perfect. Praise the Lord for that! Anywho, that sleep thing is still a good idea. Lata!
